Hello friends! These past couple weeks were full of new pedal builds and new online listings (check 'em out on Vibrolo.com and Reverb!). This is the second iteration of the Will-O-Wisp design, where I designed a more compact version and built 5 of those pedals a year or two ago. I sold three of those, and I knew it needed a more reliable update, as I had to 'edit' a couple of those early builds. Now, the Will-O-Wisp analog modulator is back in full swing, with a full redesign of both the circuit and the graphics. In addition to the larger enclosure and faceplate, I have added an LFO waveform selector (sine/triangle) and some internal upgrades. That includes a wider range of LFO rates and added stability, improved noise performance via an added filter and a new filter topology with emphasis. Also, since these use analog delay chips, I added the option to adjust the bias if needed, simply by opening the bottom cover. There are internal controls for the filter emphasis and clock-nulling as well, and though these are usually set-and-forget, they can be accessed by removing a single knob. But what is it? Well, Ivy Pedals Will-O-Wisp is an analog generalized modulated delay. What does that mean? Well, chorus, vibrato, and flangers are all delay-based pitch-modulation effects, and are all commonly made with the same basic parts. The Will-O-Wisp give you access to ALL of those options and more (doubler, short delay, modulated short delay etc.). All one has to do is adjust the knobs to access the different effect types, and the specific flavor and tone thereof. For example, it's a vibrato when DRY and RPT are set to 0, it's a chorus when RPT is 0 and wet/dry are mixed, and it's a flanger when RPT is above 0. This all changes in "Long" mode, where it's more of a delay/short echo at the higher Range settings.
