⚠️ Tap here for the answer ✅ Spoiler alert: patella subluxation 🔍 Comment “OSCE” for FREE pages of Never Forget Clinical Exams - master your OSCEs and Vivas Here you can see the patella snapping outwards towards the lateral side — this is a patella subluxation, where the kneecap slips partially out of the trochlear groove. It’s usually lateral because: ☑️ The quadriceps pull (Q-angle) naturally drags it outward ☑️ The medial stabiliser (vastus medialis obliquus) is weaker ☑️ Some patients have a shallow trochlear groove that makes lateral displacement easier Patients often describe sudden pain, a “pop” or giving-way, and swelling. On exam, pushing the patella laterally causes discomfort and apprehension. ❌ Knee dislocation - tibia and femur lose alignment, severe and limb-threatening ❌ Baker’s cyst rupture - calf swelling after cyst bursts, mimics DVT, no patella movement ❌ ACL rupture - audible pop, haemarthrosis, instability with positive Lachman test, not patella snapping 🔥 Follow me Dr Matt Barrett to study medicine smarter! #doctor #nurse #mbbs #medico #usmle #medical #medstudent #medicalstudent #medschool #quiz⚠️ Tap Here For The Sound Effects Free Download.
