Despite extensive efforts, including a nationwide appeal on BBC’s Crimewatch Live in September 2021, the case remains unresolved, leaving Julie Fletcher, Scott’s mother, and his family with many lingering questions. While seven individuals were initially arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, they were subsequently released. Investigators suspect that Scott met with foul play in the Durham area, with his remains concealed shortly thereafter. Police have emphasised that Scott had “financial obligations” to criminal circles, likely related to his disappearance. They appeal directly to those with ties to the criminal underworld to provide any information that could lead to justice for Julie and Scott's family. Scott is a father and his family misses him every day. There is very little information about Scott or his disappearance online.
