Here's baby Cassian eating a strawberry the size of his head and our messy space in the background. We're rearranging a bunch of stuff and upgrading cages which is why everything is such a mess. But anyway, back to Cassian. As you know Cassian came in after his parents were killed orphaning him and his sibling. Unfortunately the finders were unable to find help and had him and his sibling for 2 weeks. His sibling died on the drive here from aspiration pneumonia and Cassian struggled with it also. While antibiotics cleared up the original pneumonia he has continued to struggle. I think a combination of wrong formula at the start and the antibiotics have done a number on his digestive system. He constantly has watery diarrhea but no matter how many times we run fecals theyre always clear. Plus, he has a respiratory infection again which isn't terribly surprising since beavers have such a weak immune system they're basically immunocompromised. So his digestive system is messed up, his right eye is abnormally small, I can't keep him well hydrated, and now he's got another respiratory infection. I swear the baby beavers have it out for my sanity.
