Recording 13 different snare drums to create a 3D drumline in @dolby Atmos with @avid.protools One of the most exciting parts of the immersive drum recording session for "Pendulum," was recording the snare drum composition for the breakdown and outro. We used 13 different snare drums, one per speaker, in a 9.0.4 arrangement for Dolby Atmos. I captured each drum as a separate performance by Marito Marques, as well as ambient immersive mics, placed to create natural reflections. In the mix, there is no reverb, EQ or compression on any of those snare drums.
