Custom closets can be very expensive, but here’s how I created my closet on a budget! Before planning your closet, take inventory of everything you have and how you want to organize your clothes. How many drawers do you need, hanging space, custom organizers, etc? I used the IKEA PAX planning tool (yes, it’s free!). If you can’t get every corner filled because of the odd size consider other options like building a cabinet box. I used a combination of both, even though I was SO intimidated to build my own wardrobe boxes. I added custom drawer fronts to give it that extra oomph! Plus, this makes the random dresser I used, fit in with the IKEA drawers. I know many people said a dark closet isn’t functional, but I really wanted the closet to be a vibe. So I added rechargeable wireless lights! They last about 3-4 weeks before needing a charge. I’ve had this closet for about 6 months, and love it so much. It’s so easy to find my clothes. And once you make your closet beautiful and functional - it stays that way!!! It still looks this good!
