Ibrahim Haji Ali- "As koottu asin jira" ----- The late Ibrahim Hajji Ali was remembered mostly as a songwriter, melody composer, musician (keyboard and lead guitar player), historian,linguist and journalist. But he was also a singer. As you can see on this video, he played a famous song "As Koottu Asin jira" beautifully (the song was also played by Abdi Qophe, Ali Shabbo and Abitew Kebede). In 1960s, Ibrahim was among the teenage members of the historical Afran Qallo cultural troupe; the teenager department of the troupe included Hime Yusuf, Mahdi Umar and Ali Birra in addition to Ibrahim Hajji. After the Afran Qallo group was disbanded, he worked as a musician in different groups especially "the Adu Birra Band". In the latter part of his life, Ibrahim had worked as a journalist in Ethiopian Radio, Radio Fana and "Bariisaa" Newspaper. Ibrahim Passed away in late 2020.
