Via: (JEPhotography) The Volkswagen W12 Nardo, VW’s supercar that almost came to be. Commissioned by Ferdinand Piech and designed by the legendary Giorgetto Giugiaro. This is the final iteration of the W12 Coupe concept, The Nardo. There was the Syncro which debuted in 1997 and the W12 Roadster which debuted in 1998. This version, the Nardo debuted in 2001 and had a 6.0LW12 engine (compared to the 5.6L W12 of the original Syncro & Roadster) which made 591 hp & 458 lb-ft along with a 0-60 of 3.5 seconds. Which was insane for a car made in 2001. It weighed in at 2,646 lbs (1,200kg). The Nardo also had AWD and a 6-Speed Sequential Transmission to help out. It broke a world record for all speed classes over 24 hours at the Nardo Ring. Covering 4,809.8 mi (7,740.576 km) at an average speed of 200.6 mph (322.891 kmh). This car was seriously fast and reliable.
