This track began with the image of a “deep clean” inside myself. Closing my eyes, taking a deep breath, looking inward, and clearing away the distractions of the day—that was the core scene I wanted to capture, and I built the sound design around it. From this minimalist perspective, the triangle wave had to be the main lead. A pure, unembellished tone—without fancy effects. Underneath, a whistling-like melody, quick DnB drums, and flowing piano arpeggios helped me sink completely into the song. I even chose dry, thin drum sounds to keep the speed natural, not overwhelming. What mattered most was whether, when I closed my eyes, that original image would return to me. In mixing, I wanted the drums to take a little more presence while the main melody sat further back. The Inflator worked beautifully here, preserving the odd harmonics while pushing the lead behind. (Tube distortion also adds odd harmonics, but it felt too thick.) For reverb, I layered a long-tailed hall reverb with sidechain on top of a room reverb to give more ambience. Tiny touches—like subtle high-shelf EQ and compression—kept the sound as simple as possible. Vibrato and glide are enough for liveliness. With pads and reverb blending in, I wanted the music itself to whisper: “This is the atmosphere you’re in right now.” Even if no one notices these micro details, when my concept, composition, sound design, and mixing all lock into place, I feel it—this song was truly born from me. I hope you can also find happiness in those small, almost invisible choices, even in 1db eq knob tweaking.
