okay, okay, okay, so let me get sappy real quick. When I was 15, I was extremely depressed, and I was spiraling. I was terrible to my loved ones, my mother was worried I might unal1ve myself but I didn't wanna die, I just couldn't see a future for myself. My family didn't understand what was going on with me, but neither did I. After a while, I started seeing videos of people posting videos of @Lana Del Rey and putting their poems in the caption, and I wanted to join in, but I felt like I couldn't write poetry. One day I'm sitting at home crying, trying not to play tic tac toe on my arm and I just decided to pick up a book and this poem just flowed out of me like out of nowhere and I know that sounds like crazy but this is what happened. After doing that for a couple of days , I just decided, "You know, what? let's post this. " So I did, and it was received very well, and I started to realize that there are people out here who are going through the same thing i am. I'm not alone, I'm not the only one saved by Lana's music, music in general, or literally just poetry. Anyway, what i wanna say is that we are a strong community, I have read some of the most beautiful poems, edits, and observations in this community. You guys are so talented, and I just wanna say if you wanna write a book, WRITE A BOOK. if you wanna make music, MAKE MUSIC. If you have any dreams, please go after them because no one, I mean NO ONE in this community, deserves to fade to black. I wanted my last post to be a poem, but I can't write right now because I am so stressed, anxious, and scared lately because of the state that this country is in but I just wanted to post something to let you guys know that I care for you. And I'm not gonna sit here and act like we're the most affected people from this ban, I know that there are people who are gonna be losing jobs and that tiktok was a lifeline for them and i understand that but i just wanted to say that this community saved me, I was such a wreck before I started posting on here and reading poetry and I am not fixed perfectly but I am better and I'm striving to get better and better everyday. I know a lot of people in this community are struggling mentally, I had a friend that said that "you're not gonna get better, unless you decide to get better." and I know it's not that simple, if anyone knows it's me, but you can't rely on other outside factors to save you. I tried to wait for my family to save me but they didn't even realize themselves so, I had to save myself and you're gonna have to do the same. You can do it, you are strong, and you are powerful. Finally, don't let this country's bullsh1t k1ll your light, or darken your soul. That's what they want and if you let them take your hope and faith, that's how they win. I definitely could be crazy and could be rambling but this is how I feel. Anyway, I love you guys and I would really love for all of us to keep contact so please put your socials in the captions. Hopefully, we won't have to migrate but I know a lot of us are moving to Tumblr and Instagram but maybe we could make a giant group chat or something Idk. I love all of you, keep making art, and follow your dreams.
