I have been insecure about my legs since elementary school. They were always bigger than my friends’ legs, I never had defined ankles, and my knees were always covered in a layer of fat. I hated taking photos with friends when my legs were exposed, and that’s continually been a struggle! Fast forward to age 24, when more of the unexplained symptoms of bruising, pain, and swelling got noticeably worse, I was finally diagnosed with Stage 1 Lipedema. Creating this page was a huge step for me in showcasing my legs on the internet, in an effort to tell more women about this.
