Sweet & Sour Tempeh Recipe.... 30g protein per serving Makes 4 servings TASTES SO GOOOODDDD Ingredients: Base: - 3 blocks of Tempeh (1200g) - Olive oil - Brown onion - 2 red bell peppers - 1 canned pineapple (optional - I don’t like it in there but I know most recipes have it in) Sweet and sour sauce: - 1 cup pineapple juice (from the canned pineapple) - 150g rice vinegar - 3 tbsp tomato paste - 4 tbsp tomato sauce - 1/2 cup hot water - 1/2 cup nutritional yeast - 1 cup soy sauce - 2 tsp garlic - 2 tsp ginger - 2 tbsp cornflower Rice: - 1.5 cups of white rice Instructions: 1. Heat large pan on medium heat & dauce with olive oil 2. Break tempeh into rough pieces 3. When oil is hot, add tempeh into pan. Let them cook until golden brown (prepare sauce the rest while cooking). Once golden, turn heat down low (6/10), and add water until half height of the tempeh then let steam until all the water is evaporated. 4. Heat another medium pan on medium heat & sauce with olive oil 5. Cut onion and bell peppers (optional slice canned pineapple) 6. Add to medium pan & cook until soft 7. Make sauce by adding together ingredients in no particular order 8. Add veggies into tempeh 9. Add 3/4 sauce in, stir thoroughly and let simmer for 5-10 minutes 10.
