I quit my climate tech job to start a nonprofit focused on building an IRL climate community for young professionals in the Bay Area. Over the last 4 months, we’ve been hosting bi-weekly climate dinners, picnics, and fireside chats across SF. And if you’ve ever hosted even one IRL event, you know how much work it takes. But we’re doing it anyway. Because community is one of the most overlooked climate solutions. It can be hard to tie the impact to a concrete number (aka % emissions reduction), but it’s essential. Because social movements don’t scale from one-time actions, they grow when people feel supported and connected over the long haul. And the preliminary feedback from our last three events has been super encouraging! 💡 97% of our attendees made at least one new connection (77% made at least three new friends) 💡 77% said they felt inspired to take action after our events We’re throwing a launch party next Thursday 4/24 at 5:30pm during SF Climate Week to celebrate everything we’ve built so far and share an exciting vision for what’s ahead.
