Pretty sure Duke thinks physio is just a spa day. He’s still not able to stand, sit upright or walk — but after everything he’s been through, he’s allowed a lazy day. Especially when he’s this handsome. It’s been 8 weeks since he lost the ability to move. The incredibly rare Coonhound Paralysis is really taking it out of him - but it hasn’t taken him. We’ve been in the disability world my entire life, but always for people, not dogs. It hit me how quickly vets offered to “end things” if we couldn’t cope… But Duke isn’t ill. He has a neurological condition. He’s disabled. And if we can’t offer him the same mindset we offer everyone else — that life can still be full of fun and love and worth adapting for — then we’re in the wrong game.
