#burnout #ovidthomas #nativetiktok #indigenous #contrary Burnout isn't what you think it is. It's not just exhaustion. It's not just stress. And it's definitely not just a problem you need to “fix” so you can get back to work. Burnout is a signal. It's your body, your mind, your spirit telling you: You are out of alignment. Something isn't working. This is not your path. [Shift: The Indigenous Perspective] Western burnout models tell you to: rest, recover, and “bounce back.” But this is a compliance model that is designed to fit you back into the societal mold that caused your burnout to begin with. But Indigenous knowledge says: No. Burnout isn’t something to recover from—it’s something to listen to. Burnout is not failure. It’s an awakening. It’s your body refusing to betray your spirit. It’s your intuition screaming that something is deeply wrong. It’s a call to stop suppressing who you are and realign with your truth. [Why We Burn Out: Suppression & Systemic Forces] Think about it: Indigenous people burn out because we are forced to assimilate into a system that rejects our way of knowing. Autistic people burn out because we are forced to mask who we are to fit into neurotypical expectations. Marginalized people burn out because we are expected to endure oppression, microaggressions, and emotional labor just to survive. Burnout isn’t random—it’s resistance. It’s your entire being rejecting the pressure to conform to something that doesn’t honor who you are. [The System is Designed to Break You] Burnout is not a personal failing—it’s a design feature of oppressive systems. The system needs you to be exhausted. The system needs you to doubt yourself. The system needs you to believe that burnout is your fault—because if you knew the truth, you’d refuse to comply. If you feel like you’re burning out over and over again, it’s because the system is forcing you into a mold that was never meant to fit you. This is not about resilience. This is not about endurance. This is about liberation. [The Path Forward: Breaking or Transforming the System] Waking up is just the first step. Now you have a choice. Break free – Leave the systems that are breaking you. Create your own paths, communities, and ways of being. Transform the system – If leaving isn’t an option, change it from within. Challenge the structures. Demand a new way. Refuse to comply with what erases you. True burnout recovery isn’t about “getting back to work.” It’s about dismantling the systems that are killing us. It’s about realigning our lives with authenticity, balance, and justice. The world tells you to push through. I’m telling you to push back. Listen. Align. Awaken. Resist.
#nativeamericans #firstnations #nativetiktok #indigenous #indiancounty #americanindian #sovereignty #turtleisland #IndigenousTikTok What does revoking birthright citizenship mean for Native Americans? You may have heard that birthright citizenship is being challenged for Native Americans. But what does that really mean? Let’s break it down. The executive order being proposed would require Native Americans to relinquish their nation and swear sole allegiance to the U.S. to retain their citizenship. This challenges a long-standing law that allowed citizenship without renouncing tribal sovereignty—a principle foundational to Native nations. But here’s the issue: What happens if they don’t? Native Americans have no other homeland. The choice being presented feels like a direct attack on sovereignty and self-identity. This isn’t happening in a vacuum. The current president has publicly admired Andrew Jackson—the very president responsible for the Trail of Tears and policies that displaced and devastated Native nations. And now, history feels like it’s repeating itself So what can you do? Stay informed. Talk to your tribal leadership. Educate yourself and your community on the challenges ahead. Together, we can stand strong in the face of these attacks on sovereignty. Before I close, let’s take a moment to reflect on what this could mean for Canadian First Nations. The current president of the United States has repeatedly suggested he wants Canada to become the 51st state. For many, this rhetoric seemed impossible—a political fantasy. But given the recent actions in the U.S., especially against Native sovereignty, it’s not such a far-fetched idea anymore. If such a scenario were to unfold, what would that mean for our sovereignty as Indigenous peoples here in Canada? Would we face similar choices and challenges? It’s time for us to take this rhetoric seriously. Our leadership needs to start thinking about contingencies to ensure our sovereignty is protected, no matter what happens south of the border. #onthisday #autistic #nativetiktok #meltdown #autism Autistic Meltdowns & Forced Independence I’m autistic. I’m Indigenous. And like many in my community, I’ve had to learn how to manage my symptoms alone—not by choice, but because we often fall through the cracks of support systems that weren’t made for us. Many indigenous and autistic people like myself need to learn to self-manage when they go through an autistic meltdown. In this video, I talk about: • What an autistic meltdown is (definition included) • some experiences I’ve had with meltdowns • How I’ve learned to navigate them, without formal support • Why many Indigenous autistics become what I call “independent autistics”—those who are forced (or choose) to manage all of their needs without help This is for anyone trying to understand what it’s really like to carry autism without support, and what we’ve had to build on our own just to survive. If you’re an independent autistic too, or love someone who is—this one’s for you.
Some ground rules for my page Keep in mind that I’m autistic and I do have a aversion to small chat or small talk and I do not need pleasant trees. I’m perfectly fine if you engage with me right off the bat in fact, I prefer it. I get frustrated when people say so many polite things that I just turned off and I honestly blocked people like that. Also, if you have an offer business offer reading where other service, please be very clear what it is and if I do not feel alignment, then I will probably end that conversation and also be aware of. I have a trigger finger with my block finger, so please respect my space and my time I appreciate that. Also, I do recommend you engage with conversations on my page in the open where I prefer as you can see from my content I’m pretty much an open book and I get suspicious when people try and conduct business in secret. Thank you for respecting my wishes.
Who Benefits When the Stock Market Crashes? Let’s follow the money. Every time the market tanks, everyday people lose their savings, homes, jobs, and retirements. But there’s one group that’s always ready: billionaires. They liquidate at the top, build massive cash reserves, and when panic hits, they buy everything cheap—stocks, companies, land, influence. Warren Buffett had $150 billion in cash ready. So did hedge funds like BlackRock and billionaires like Carl Icahn. This isn’t a coincidence—it’s a playbook. So when Donald Trump pushes chaos, tanks markets, or cuts institutions that stabilize the economy—ask yourself: Is he really in charge? Or is he just a player on someone else’s board? Because the real power isn’t in the Oval Office. It’s in who holds the cash when the world burns. #FollowTheMoney #EconomicPlaybook #MarketManipulation #OligarchyAlert #PowerMoves #TruthTok #NativeTok #WorldTok
#nativetiktok #performativeleaders #transformativechange #clientsfirst #indigenous Those Who Transform Are Fuel Why Performative Leaders Can’t Create Change, So They Consume Those Who Can I remember the day the politicians were coming to our office. My boss transformed. She dressed in regalia. She made sure everything was perfect for the incoming royalty. And as they arrived, she fawned—smiling, flattering. They called her a great leader. Showered her with praise. And I stood there, watching… feeling how hollow it was. But no one else seemed to notice. That’s when I started to understand something about leadership in our communities. Some of the most dangerous figures in our circles aren’t the ones who oppose transformation. They’re the ones who perform it. They speak the language. They wear the feathers. They smudge for cameras. They call themselves “healers,” “leaders,” “grandmothers,” “grandfathers.” But their connection to real change? Cosmetic at best. Controlling at worst. And behind the scenes? Something more insidious plays out. Something I lived through. Something many of us have witnessed, but maybe never had the words for: When they realize they can’t embody transformation… They recruit, manipulate, and subjugate those who can. They draw in the visionaries. The empaths. The spiritually gifted. The Autistic. Not to uplift them… But to extract from them. Their trauma, for grant language. Their intellect, for programming. Their spiritual resonance, for authenticity. They build their careers on the backs of those they secretly fear. Because deep down, they know: They can’t lead transformation. They can only imitate it. We become the fuel for their programming. But the fire was never truly theirs. The Mask of Cultural Leadership In public, they wear feathers. In private, they weaponize silence. In ceremony, they claim healing. In meetings, they gatekeep truth. When a real transformer walks in? Their first instinct isn’t collaboration. It’s containment. Parasitic Leadership: The Quiet Epidemic What I’ve come to understand is this: They don’t build without a host. And when the host resists? They discard them. They deny them. They try to destroy them. And if you shine too brightly— They’ll either try to dim you or claim your light was theirs all along. From Survival to Sovereignty I used to think I was the problem. Too sensitive. Too radical. Too hard to control. But now I see it clearly: I was the mirror. And some people would rather shatter the mirror than face what it shows them. But here’s what I know now: We don’t need their permission to lead. We don’t need their validation to create. We don’t need their systems to walk in ceremony, vision, and truth. We are the programming. We are the medicine. We are the future. No matter how many feathers they wear. And today, let this be remembered: It is the clients, the people we serve, who come first, always. And we must reject anyone who seeks to steal, diminish, or consume everything for themselves. Disclaimer: there is no NDA in place for the scenario I’m describing.
Replying to @lindams 🇨🇦#Ffab The comment brings up some maximum points on making sure you include your pets in your regulation. Keep track of them if you are going through an instance like this because it helps to restore balance when you see the effect it has on dogs when you lose control so it helps you to firm up your role a bit and maintain that sense of crime because you want to make sure that your family is also considered and you don’t want to be reactive and get angry and upset your family. I’ve also done a bunch of videos in recent weeks on provocation and suppression. I do recommend those for people to check them out. The video on suppression is more of an essay but it’s very thorough and I’m probably gonna do a couple shorts on that essay just because it is a bit complex for a three minute and 33 second video right and thanks for your comments and appreciate the questions

Unlock the Power of Your Vagus Nerve The vagus nerve is a key player in your body’s stress response system. By stimulating it, you can regulate your emotions, calm anxiety, and even manage trauma responses. Techniques like deep breathing, cold exposure, and certain physical movements can activate your vagus nerve, promoting a sense of safety and grounding. This is especially useful for those with CPTSD, ADHD, and similar conditions. —check out my page for other Indigenous and autistic content @Ovid Thomas
