Filming for the new ‘Harry Potter’ series is well underway but what does OG HP director Chris Columbus think about it all? On ‘The Rest Is Entertainment’ podcast, Columbus, who directed the first two Harry Potter films, revealed that he was a bit baffled by HBO’s remake, especially when it came to the costume design of Hagrid. “So, I’m seeing these photographs… and he’s [Nick Frost] wearing the exact same costume that we designed for Hagrid. Part of me was like: What’s the point?” He went on to add, “I thought everything was going to be different, but it’s more of the same. It’s all going to be the same.” When asked if he would return to the franchise, Columbus shut that idea down. “It’s time to move on, I’ve always had issues with the idea of franchise.
