Dani here. Thank you to everyone for the love support I really appreciate it and have been reading all your comments and messages. This surgery has been really hard on my body and I honestly regret having the jejunostom done at the moment. The critical care team has been phoned at least once a day to give me bolts doses of IV pain medication as my pain still isn’t undercontrol. My back and pelvis are causing excruciating pain. When I move my spine and hips are popping back into place but becuase I’m constantly lying on them my joints are slipping back out and spamming badly I feel like I can’t win in any position. As for the surgical jejunostomy they managed to do the surgery key hole but I did wake up with an extra incision and no one has been able to explain why. The tube is in a good place (I did get to discuss with the surgeon where would be best to place it in terms of where my trousers sit etc) but trying to put anything down the tube is excruciating even with the PCA it’s quite literally taking me over an hour to push 10mls of medication through, so meds can take around 4-5 hours to push me. My nausea is really bad so I’m on 24hr drainage right now. Tomorrow I am seeing my intestinal failure team so hopefully I will have a better update I know I also has a pain team assessment as they want to start weaning me off the PCA however I’m dreading this as it’s taking so long to push jej meds I’m not sure I would get the doses in and we also don’t know how much I am absorbing still. My jej hasn’t been used since April 25 it’s so hard but I’m trying my best to persist with it.
