SURGERY HAPPEND! This was very unexpected and sudden full update soon I’m in extreme pain I can’t breath or talk without wanting to cry PLEASE HELP! . My neck and spine is really unstable so lying on it constantly is unbearable but I can’t lie any other way due to excruciating pain in my abdomen I’m having to alternate between sitting forward to take pressure of my spine with support which trigger my abdomen pain and lying on a incline on my back triggers my back pain we knew this would be a problem but is way worse if anyone has any idea to help I would really appreciate it I have lots of pillow to support me. As for pain management I came round crying in extreme pain dispite very strong pain meds in recovery, anaesthetist prescribed a PCA to try keep things under control as pain is my biggest seizure trigger, I tend to have back to back seizures. When the critical care team came they gave me a boulous of morphine. the boulous helps for around 3 hours but we’re back to 10/10 pain. Honstly at this point I’m regretting having the surgery I haven’t slept and I just can’t cope I don’t want to do this I know it’s gonna be worth it in the end but I just can’t do this this level of pain honstly terrifies me. In addition to all this (not like I need anything f else to contend with) there is no notes saying nurses can do my iv infusion through my Hickman so I am having to manage my own line which is one of the hardest things iv ever had to do the nurses are spiking and setting up my steril field but I am accessing and descending I would never wish this on anyone I hope on ward round they will let the nurses take over as I just can’t do this. At half 6am they a bleeping critical care team again.
