One and a half years ago, I had meniscus tear knee surgery. I should never have been advised to do that surgery because it usually leads to accelerated osteoarthritis. My father suffered severely from Arthritis. The sad thing is my doctor did not give me all options. He was very quick to recommend surgery, and omitted to give you the full information. 6 month after the surgery, I couldn’t walk for long periods of time without pain. Couldn’t walk up stairs, lift my legs to get in or out of the bath. Exercising seemed like an impossible fantasy. You guys know me by now. You know I was not going to give up on myself. I found a good physiotherapist to teach me what I could and couldn’t do when it comes to exercise. With time and determination, 6 months later, I am able to do what you see now. I can actually bend my knees. I’m only 60% there but everyday is a blessing. I know too many women my age are having knee problems and I hear a lot of them say, exercising with weights is a problem, they can only walk to stay trim.
