I’m not even going to lie…when I first started posting on @TikTok, I was so self-conscious. I had no idea what I was doing, and I was constantly worrying about what people thought of me… even the people closest to me. Eventually, I had to accept that not everyone was going to support me, and that’s okay. Putting yourself out there online isn’t as “easy” as it looks. You open yourself up to being judged, to people sharing your videos with comments like “who does she think she is?” or “I can’t believe she’s posting.” But once I learned to block out that noise and get out of my own head, creating became freeing. Looking back now, I see all the hours of editing, brainstorming ideas, finding the perfect song or voiceover and I’m proud of the effort and growth that came from it. Social media has also become a space where I can truly be myself. No one tells me I’m “too much,” that I work “too fast,” or that I come across as “intimidating.” Here, I get to show up as me.. no judgment, no limits.
