Honoured to have been invited to train with some of Kenya’s Olympic team at the Nyayo National Stadium. 🏟️ I arrived with my sights set on a PB in the 5km and to say it was a pretty rough ride would be an understatement… I’d just landed on three hours of sleep, came out too hard too early and hadn’t accounted for the altitude. Was in a bit of trouble as early as the second lap (of 12.5) but giving up in front of Coach Jeff and his team just wasn’t an option. So, I dug deep and ground it out and got there in the end with 18:38 (PB) - a really memorable morning as I’d never gone sub 20 mins before. Good luck to the amazing @tysonjuma1 at the Olympics in Paris 🙌 - you’re a truly lovely man who deserves every success.
