At first, I was fairly hesitant to write about this but after some time thinking about it, I realized it might do good for me if I shared. Within the last couple of months, I was diagnosed with a chronic illness by the name of Chiari malformation. For those who don’t know, Chiari malformation is a condition in which brain tissue extends into the spinal canal. It occurs when part of the skull is abnormally small or misshapen. I was definitely shocked when my doctor first told me about my condition. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget that phone call. It’s been quite rough for me, not only physically but also mentally. My main goal for writing this is to gain some Chiari malformation awareness. This condition doesn’t seem very well known and I’d love to be able to shine some light onto it. This whole ordeal has been the main reason I’ve been so inactive on my account lately, and I would like to apologize for that. I promise to try and start posting more.
