As I continue to hear the news, my prayers continue to be with Texas... 🥹 I saw a person make a comment one time, on another page, that telling people "Our prayers are with them" is not a kind thing to say when someone has experienced great loss or tragedy, that it's not helpful. I disagree. While the point can, and should, be made that these beloved people need the tangible hands and feet of Jesus, on the ground, in action to rebuild, search and rescue (Thank you Samaritan's Purse and volunteers); or, that these people need great finances - they do indeed (Thank you businesses, organizations and donors); it is also equally true that they need prayer (Thank you everyday people who lift their voices and hearts). People who have experienced great tragedy need prayers for strength to endure the difficult days ahead, comfort for the loss of loved ones, healing from physical infirmities and maladies, hope to face the future that now looks different, peace of mind for survivors' guilt or blame, and they need a rest from mental anguish that the Lord, alone, can give. So, know that when I say, "My prayers are with you"- all who are in need - this is what I am praying for you. And, thank you for praying for me, too.
