LAHAINA - Just 6 months (and a few days) ago was nearly wiped off the face it the earth. Now silence, no chatter, just crickets about the devastation and 1000’s of lives, 100’s of businesses and a massive piece if historic Hawaian landscape changed forever. There are few words I can find to express how it felt to be in serrvice and on island wirh in 48 hours of this catastrophe and collectively for months since. The things we saw, the pain we witnessed, the anger we felt through their eyes, the desperation observed - in a phrase: “life changing”. It was an honor to be a member of a prepared response, immediatley assessing and connecting to determine just how we might best serve in support of these hurting survivors, islanders, and Americans in need. I’m sincerely grateful to be a small part of this amazing team that is Strategic Response Partners.
