Armageddon is the seventh main installment in the series that followed behind Mortal Kombat: Deception (2004), and Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks (2005). MK: Deception was the sixth main installment, as MK: Shaolin Monks was a Spin-Off game to hold fans over for Armageddons massive roster. Mortal Kombat Armageddon is known for its massive roster of characters, which included every character from all previous games, including a "Kreate-A-Fighter" mode that allows players to create and customize their own characters. Mortal Kombat: Armageddons Konquest mode was upon one of the best Konquest modes up to this point in Mortal Kombats 10 year history. Mortal Kombat also included an extra mode called "Motor Kombat" which was a kart racing mode that added a unique twist to the overall gameplay of Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat Armageddon also included a Krypt, where players could spend their hard earned Koins on random tombstones in a graveyard to unlock bonus content which included: cut content, early development game art, alternative costumes, and characters for Mortal Kombat Armageddon. While Mortal Kombat Armageddon was praised for its sheer number characters and customization options, it was also criticized for its storyline, and characters handling, which some fans felt it was a step back from previous installments in the series.
