My mental health was taking over everything other aspect in my life and I realized it was time for a change so I: ✨ started focusing on myself and not putting energy into relationships that no longer suited me. ✨ started focusing on my appearance. Taking the time to get my nails and hair done, focusing on skincare and getting some facial procedures done to enhance my features. ✨ left bedside nursing!! This is huge. A toxic work environment, unsupportive management, and night shift all took a negative toll on my mental and physical health. ✨ started modifying my diet. I still eat what I enjoy but I don’t have to continue to eat if I’m full or if I’m not hungry. ✨ taking my medicine on a regular basis and not forgetting! Consistency is key. ✨ moving my body! I always thought that if I wasn’t at the gym doing high intensity I wasn’t doing it right. But walking, cycling, swimming, light weights, Pilates, yoga is just as good! ✨ started dressing up. I lived in sweats and sweatpants and looked like a bum. Putting on makeup, a cutie little outfit, and some jewelry makes you feel good about yourself. You look good, you feel good, you do good! All these changes led me to lose 51 pounds so far! I haven’t felt this happy and confident in YEARS! I am putting me first, loving and investing in myself. I have a job I absolutely love that gives me great work life balance. I enjoy doing things now and don’t feel like I have to drag myself out to socialize. And just remember, in relationships and getting to know people, if they want to, they would.
