便槽内事件 ［Incident in the toilet tank］ 1989年2月28日、福島県阿武隈山地の中に建つ木造の単身者用教員住宅で発生した事件。 村内の小学校に勤務する当時23歳だった女性教員が2月28日 夕方18時ごろ、勤務先の小学校に隣接した教員住宅に帰宅し、トイレ（汲み取り式）に入って何気なく便器の中を覗き込んだところ、底に人のような物が見えた。教員は驚き、慌てて屋外の汲み取り口に向かい蓋を開け、汲み取り口の底に人の足と思われるものが見えた。この時点で覗きではないかと疑った教員は教頭ほか同僚の教員を呼び、同僚の教員が警察に通報した。まず近くの駐在所から巡査が駆け付け、続いて村の消防団員と三春署員が相次いで到着した。 トイレ内の便器側からは、底に人の頭部らしきものが見えており、その上には何故か片方の靴が乗せられており、屋外にある汲み取り口の奥には足が見えていた。署員らが声を掛けても返答は無く、便槽の中から人物を引っ張り出そうとしたが、直径36cmの汲み取り口からは狭くてどうしても引き出すことが出来なかった為、やむなく土木会社に依頼して便槽の周囲を重機で掘り返し、最終的にトイレを慎重に破壊して便槽内の人物を外に出した。 The incident occurred on February 28, 1989, in a wooden teacher's residence for single residents built in the Abukuma Mountains of Fukushima Prefecture. A 23-year-old female teacher working at an elementary school in the village returned home to the teacher's residence adjacent to the elementary school where she worked at around 6 p.m. on the evening of February 28, and entered the toilet (pit toilet) and casually looked into the bowl when she saw something that looked like a human at the bottom. The teacher was shocked and hurried to the outdoor pit toilet and opened the lid, where she saw what appeared to be a human foot at the bottom of the pit toilet. At this point, the teacher suspected that someone was peeping, and called the vice principal and other teachers, who then called the police. A police officer from a nearby police station arrived first, followed by members of the village fire brigade and officers from Miharu Police Station. From the toilet bowl side of the toilet, what appeared to be a human head was visible at the bottom, and for some reason a shoe was placed on top of it, and a foot was visible at the back of the outdoor pit toilet. Police officers called out to the person but there was no response, so they tried to pull the person out of the septic tank, but the 36cm diameter opening was too narrow and they were unable to pull him out no matter what.
