New song release! https://open.spotify.com/track/7bQpBKygYhZAWa8IDXpHz4?si=aJf2oi47QQSR_AhoYpqd0w&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A63vqpzrPUWMbeGEWe3bQKr In Three Days Time. In September of last year I wrote the first bit of lyrics and melody for what I imagined to be an Easter hymn. A week later I added an advent verse and started thinking of it as a Christmas song. A few days later I wrote an instrumental, final verse, and outro. I played the fully formed song for my wife. Her response - “That’s the gospel.” In late November I saw The Gospel Coalition’s call for song submissions with the prompt being: “What is the gospel?” With the encouragement of my wife, I decided to try and submit my song. With the help of my friends, Nathan Trueb, Raymond Richards, and Alex Chapman, we recorded, mixed, and mastered the song in three days(!). I sent in the master recording in the evening hours of the final day for submissions. It’s an honor to be featured on this compilation album with these other artists. Some I’m hearing for the first time and some I’ve admired from afar for years. Well done! I can’t thank Nathan Trueb enough for his encouragement and help. His vision and producing brought the song to life. He called upon some incredibly talented friends to add to it. Matt Moss on drums, Justin Chase on piano and Wurlitzer, and Nafisaria Mathews with her beautiful harmonies. They each came into the studio for less than an hour - wowing and humbling me with their talent and skill. We would definitely not have made the submission deadline without the efforts of Raymond and Alex. Thank you for your efforts and setting aside the time to help me.
