While @Symphonic Distribution refuses to address the situation they’ve created with our cover of “What It Sounds Like”, these lyrics hit even harder 😂 I filmed this clip MONTHS ago when I posted the Abracadabra cover, and just never put this up on socials. EVERYTIME I think of the lyric “I am the hero I prayed for” I literally tear up, and in light of the runaround Symphonic Distribution is giving us, it hits even harder. Being a queer woman of color is to know first hand what it means to be silenced. Though #symphonicdistribution promised to be there for me at every step of my journey with them (they personally scouted and signed me), they have proven all they are here to do is take a portion of my streaming revenue and not show up when they need to. During weeks of hard work from me, @Cristina Vee & @Sariah Cali, we made sure and checked with them at EVERY STEP that we would be good to upload our cover of What It Sounds Like. Now, they pulled it down and are refusing to remedy the situation they’ve created (AND - we paid them for cover song license as well!!!). Indie artists - be VERY WARY of any interaction with #symphonicdistro. They will sell you on the support they are “dedicated to giving independent artists”, when in reality, all they want to do is make money off all the hard work you’ve put in for years all by yourself.
