Leaving Gambia has left a mark on my heart forever. I sat with children who own almost nothing ripped T-shirts, no shoes, no food security yet their smiles lit up the whole place. SubhanAllah, it makes you reflect. We grew up in the UK with every comfort, but what if Allah had willed us to be in their situation instead? Gratitude is more than saying Alhamdulillah it’s showing it. It’s giving back. It’s using what Allah has blessed us with to uplift others. Alhamdulillah, we are humbled and happy to announce that we are now planning to build an orphanage in Gambia and sponsor children to learn the Qur’an. This will be a sadaqah jariyah project, in’shaa’Allah, that benefits us long after we leave this dunya. We have now landed in Zanzibar 🇹🇿 to continue this mission. The work doesn’t stop.
