On Thursday, June 3, 2021, at approximately 12: 15 hours, Investigators interviewed JAMES DEAR in an interview room at San Dimas Sheriff Station. NOTE: The following is a synopsis of the audio recorded interview. Investigators read JAMES DEAR his Miranda rights and he stated he understood them. JAMES DEAR told Investigators he lived with the d 2 family. They took him into their home and had helped him get through some difficult times in his life. He expressed anxiety over talking to us about SHANE BEHRINGER because the family had been so good to him. As Investigators questioned JAMES DEAR, they expressed how important his honesty was JAMES DEAR confirmed his cellphone number, and said it was on SHANE BEHRINGER'S mom's account. Investigators explained they were investigating the murder of Victim JAMES DEAR was shown a photo of the victim. JAMES DEAR said he had never met him, but knew who he was through Instagram. JAMES DEAR also said he always thought SHANE BEHRINGER and BRIANNA GARCIA were a couple and the posts on Instagram by BRIANNA GARCIA seemed to indicate Victim E a was her boyfriend also. As the conversation went on, JAMES DEAR seemed to avoid talking about the time around March 26th. Investigators told JAMES DEAR they had cellphone records which showed where everyone was the night of the murder. At this point, JAMES DEAR seemed to open up about the night Victim i was murdered. JAMES DEAR eventually told Investigators at the end of March, he drove to Los Angeles with SHANE BEHRINGER and his friend Santana Lopez, in a Maserati that BRIANNA GARGIA had rented. On the date of the murder, BRIANNA GARCIA was already somewhere in Los Angeles. SHANE BEHRINGER, Santana Lopez and he drove the Maserati to a friend's party in the downtown Los Angeles area. The friend who threw the party was Wise painter (artist). At some point, later in the evening, JAMES DEAR said they all decided to leave the party and go "smoke." He said SHANE BEHRINGER drove them further into the city (Los Angeles) and they parked around the corner from • JAMES DEAR said he did not know what was about to happen thinking they were only going to smoke. JAMES DEAR told Investigators SHANE BEHRINGER got out of the car and said he would be right back. JAMES DEAR said he and Santana Lopez were sitting in the back seat of the Maserati waiting. SHANE BEHRINGER was gone for approximately 5 minutes when he (JAMES DEAR) heard several loud gun shots. A moment or two later, JAMES DEAR said BRIANNA GARCIA and SHANE BEHRINGER came running back and jumped in the car. BRIANNA GARCIA got into the driver's seat and SHANE BEHRINGER got into the front passenger seat. JAMES DEAR said he saw a gun in SHANE BEHRINGER'S hand as he got back into the Maserati. JAMES DEAR said they both looked panicked and BRIANNA GARCIA drove away "hella-fast." JAMES DEAR said he asked, "What the fuck just happened?" One or both of them replied, "Nothing."
