Edward Scissorhands Replica Gloves I finished yesterday for a customer. A little backstory: I originally created these gloves when I was 17. It took me about a year to finish and complete the entire costume. It was a very close replica to the original one. I was never able to see the actual gloves designed by Stan Winston Studio for Tim Burton, but mine were pretty accurate for someone that age. After a few years, I refined the shapes and corrected some of the blades to create a revamped version of that same costume. They were super close to the original ones, but still not 1:1 accurate. So I kept making alterations and improvements, until people started asking me if I could sell them. That gave me the idea to create production molds, which helped me perfect the pieces even more. They became a very popular item on the internet because, back then, there wasn’t a replica as good as mine (at least that’s what people used to say!). Even Travis Barker wore them for his Halloween costume. These gloves have been featured in official Tim Burton museum exhibitions around the world, and I believe this latest version is the most accurate one yet, but that’s just my opinion. Nowadays, many of my friends 3D print them. But I made these the “old school” way, like a maquette: sculpted, molded, cast, and painted, just like they did back in the ‘90s.
