The teacher said, “I have to tell you what she just said, and I wanted to say it in front of you.” 🥹 I looked down at this beautiful little girl, her eyes ✨ sparkling ✨ with light, though she stood there shyly 🥰. The teacher smiled and said, “She said, ‘I love Dr. NYC.’” 🩷 Of course, I melted 🫠. I bent down and said, “I love you too!” 🤗 She immediately hugged me and squeezed me tightly 🫂, repeating, “I love you, Dr. NYC.” 🥹💖 I’ve always believed that children 👶🏽🧒🏽 and pets 🐶🐾 are some of the best judges of character. They’ll either gravitate toward you or stay away 🚶🏽♀️. And in that moment, I was reminded that there’s something in me she saw… something she felt… that made her know I’m safe to love 🫶🏾. My prayer 🙏🏽 is that we all live our lives in such a way that the people around us whether children 🧒🏽, adults 👩🏽🦳, seniors 👵🏽, or even pets 🐕can feel safe to love us, and that we are safe spaces for their hearts ❤️.
