"The Black Phone 2", a sequel to the 2021 horror film "The Black Phone", is coming soon from @Universal Pictures and @Blumhouse, aiming to launch a new horror franchise. Based on a short story by horror author Joe Hill, the original film, directed by Scott Derrickson, followed a young boy's desperate attempt to escape from the basement of a deranged, masked child abductor known as 'The Grabber'. During his captivity, the boy receives a series of mysterious phone calls from a black rotary phone on the basement wall. These calls connect him to the disembodied voices of The Grabber’s previous victims, who offer advice on how he can escape. The tension mounts as the boy races to free himself and avoid becoming the next victim. "The Black Phone 2" is set to hit cinemas on October 17, 2025, just in time for Halloween. Initially slated for a summer release on June 27, the film's debut was postponed by four months to capitalize on the autumn season. Ethan Hawke will reprise his role as The Grabber, despite the character's death in the first film, proving that it's hard to keep a good villain down. 😉 The sequel will also see the return of the original main cast, including Mason Thames as Finney, Madeleine McGraw as Gwen, Jeremy Davies as Terrance Shaw, and Miguel Mora as Robin.
