A feeling I know a little too well. Life is not meant to be lived in a specific pattern or sequence but one cant help but yearn for a feeling of normality in a world of chaos. As a woman of colour, I can never actually fit in a society that wasn’t built for people that look like me. Having to change goals and aspirations every other day because one thing always leads to another and I am not able to pursue what goals I set for myself. Disappointment doesn’t mean failure however, it means finding a way to overcome past these obstacles and pushing forward for the life you desire for yourself even when all odds are against you. “This is not the end. I will make it” is what you remind yourself every single time you feel disappointed in the outcome of something you work so hard to accomplish. You only fail when you decide that you don’t want to try any more and let life win. I don’t want to let life win. I will make it. Even if even single odd is against me as long as I don’t give into the darkness, there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel even if it’s far away. Disappointment means trying harder.
