VERY SPECIAL THANKS Wolfnwarriors (IG) Woleres (YT) for commissioning this awesome animatic! ^^ CONTEXT: This is part of the concept lore for my Captain Planet reboot, “Rise of the Planeteers”. In her ancient days, Gaia wasn’t the gentle, motherly spirit she’d be revered for. She was a proud and vain primordial, who created humans to worship her and flourish the Earth. Until one day, her serpent son Python delivered a prophecy that a creation of her own doing would be Earth’s destruction. Fearing this, Gaia created Zarm, a spirit of destruction, meant to keep humanity in check by controlling storms, fires, quakes, and plague. But Gaia purposely weakened him—he’d grow strong only if Earth suffered. Betrayed, Zarm turned against her and allowed humans to go unchecked, resulting in Gaia stripping him of his powers and sealed him within the Earth. Gaia then chose a new predator, a mortal Captain, and granted him the four elements. But the Captain believed in something greater than war and hate: Empathy and compassion, “Heart”. Although Gaia deemed it as weak, the Captain put it to the test when he showed mercy to an enemy instead of using his other powers, resulting in the enemy slaughtering the Captain’s crew by ambush. Despite the pain and loss, the Captain still believed in Heart and compassion in all life.
