“Quick as the Wind” - preview of an original by me, Gemma Briggs. ✨ I wrote this song a couple of years ago now, during the pandemic. I think we were all searching for some sort of passion in our lives and kitesurfing became the new thing that I was passionate about. All I wanted to do was be at the beach every day, but unfortunately, there’s not wind every day. So I wrote this song, quick as the wind, to capture the feeling of falling in love with a sport. We can be in love with people, we can be in love with places, and we can also be in love with things. I like to explore with my songwriting the different ways that we can express love, whether romantic or not. The opening line to the song is : “Quick as the wind, Quick as the stars, Quick as the way you had stolen my heart” This is the final verse of the song, going into the Irish whistle solo.
