This will take about 5-7 minutes of mixing on high speed. The more bubbles you can bring into the mixture, the fluffier your sponge cake is going to be. 8. Use a strainer to add the baking powder and flour. Carefully mix in the dry ingredients just until everything is combined. Try not to deflate the batter. 9. Preheat the oven to 325F and bake for about 35 minutes. Check with a wooden toothpick if the pie is baked trough. If the top of the pie is turning darker but the pie is not baked through, cover the top with a piece of foil paper to prevent it from over baking. 10.
