I played juco, hated it, and got injured but now that I’m on the other side 3 years removed I just wish I would’ve stuck it out. Growing up and greving is weird. After I spent the following 1.5 years after I quit walking with a limp due to my knees being so worn down, I thought I’d never look back, but I guess I was wrong. Maybe the fact that all TV has to offer in the middle of the summer is baseball is to blame. I played in a slow pitch softball league last summer and had some fun, but ultimately felt melancholy the whole time. I’m not sure if 23 is an appropriate age to look back on “the good old days” but it would seem that that feeling has shown up at my doorstep regardless. I really wish I would’ve spent the last few years of playing baseball enjoying baseball, not just trying comparing myself to all of my teammates and those getting recruited with me.
