Pixies - Doolittle Despite loving Pixies’ most popular track ‘Where is My Mind?’, which featured in the 1999 cult classic Fight Club, I didnt find myself gravitating towards it’s album ‘Surfer Rosa’ too much. Even though Surfer Rosa is a great album, I think it’s fair to say that Doolittle is the fan favourite. The album is so well put together and the range of songs that the album carries, with the likes of ‘Tame’, ‘Here Comes Your Man’ and ‘Monkey Gone To Heaven’ is pioneering and timeless. The stop-start timing seen in the songs ‘Hey’, ‘Gouge Away’ and others would go onto be a popular method for rock bands all throughout the 90’s and even to modern day with Cage The Elephant’s first two albums having a massive Pixies influence. Doolittle is one of my favourite albums and the @HMV centenary copy of the record sounds and looks phenomenal!
