It’s kind of an oxymoron because I’m going through experimental cancer treatment, and that treatment has taken away a lot from me, not just my physical appearance but my emotional and mental health. Medicine is supposed to fix you, or help you at least, right? it almost seems that I am not healing. But I do feel that I’ve healed more emotionally and even physically from writing this music than I have from any actual medicine I’ve received since beginning this battle. I believe that is a testament to the fact I’ve allowed myself to really feel my pain and process the emotions through writing this music. Feeling is healing and that’s the true medicine here.
