The outer cape beaches are now on swimmable. Nauset beach now has their shark flag flying. 24/7 because there’s so many sharks in the surf and Right after Shoreline watching the seals. they’re doing it to protect themselves so when there is a shark attack, they can say the flag was flying, and they’re protected from being sued. They used to only fly the flag, when there had been a shark spotted. but there were so many closures in the beginning of the summer literally every day sometimes multiple times the town decided to just constantly fly the flag because there’s just so many great whites right there all the time. It’s crazy outer cape beaches nobody’s in the water anymore. And I really believe that’s another reason. There hasn’t been a shark attack this summer yet.. they’ll be hundreds of people on the beach and maybe one or two people in the water. Pretty much the whole length of Coast Guard Beach.. all the way to Racepoint.
