Matsuri’s got quite the task ahead of her. — My headcanons about Shinki encompass all of the people in Gaara’s life. Shira and Matsuri are some of Gaara’s deepest devotees. So just like how I made Shinki’s taijutsu teacher, I decided that Matsuri should teach Shinki the shinobi basics. Matsuri has come a long way since her initial introduction. After the war, she opted to spend more time educating the next shinobi generations and takes on the legacy in the Sunagakure Academy the Sand Siblings had left behind. When Gaara first adopted Shinki, his Iron Sand was still volatile. As the only other existing sand user, Gaara had to teach him to control it, but he is also the Kazekage and can’t spend all of his time devoted to Shinki’s training.
