🎈I scrolled back, and one year ago on my birthday, I shared a sentimental video reflecting on how far I’ve come since I started rescuing wildlife at just 17 years old out of my parents’ house. I talked about the heart of what we do here at the rescue and I wrapped it up by asking for support for the Phase 3 fundraiser for our Fox Barn project. And the truth is… I still feel EXACTLY the same way I did in that video. The growth I’ve experienced through this journey of rescuing wildlife, growing a social media platform, and building a nonprofit has been incredible, and I’ll never stop feeling grateful for it. But you know what is NOT the same? Where we’re at with the Fox Barn! We’re now fundraising for Phase 7 - and while this phase probably won’t finish the entire project, it SHOULD get us to the point where the enclosures are fully secure, meet all license requirements (including the perimeter fence), and are ready to safely house the foxes. That means we could officially be MOVE-IN READY, ah! Maybe not totally finished or enriched yet, but finally able to get them in there, and that’s huge. It feels like it’s taken so long to get to this point, but also it’s amazing how much we’ve managed to accomplish in pieces in just over a year, thanks almost entirely to individual donors like you. Not through big grant funding - just everyday people who believe in what we do. That blows my mind. Year 30 flew by. It was chaotic, stressful, nonstop, had a lot of sad moments, but also so productive and full of progress. I can feel that year 31 is going to bring even more good things. Something’s brewing - I feel it in my gut - and I’m ready for it! Thank you all for being part of this with me.
