Max Stanton announces his name change from La Stax. Sheesh…the journey really is the dream. Saying goodbye to the name La Stax just hit me and it’s so bittersweet. The freedom of using my own name as an artist is a freedom I’ve wanted for awhile and as I grow more and more, part of that growth is helping people understand me for who I am as an artist overall. La Stax was a hell of an era, from making the name and dropping my first ever song on SoundCloud (I still can’t bring myself to listen to it) to growing and growing to where I am now. All the mental battles of trying to improve at a craft I so desperately love. It’s such a up and down, day to day journey as an artist and I wouldn’t want it any other way. All good things come to an end so this is to not only a new beginning, but most importantly to a sign of growth as an artist. I’m so excited for what’s to come.
