I recently saw a post where someone was explaining the benefits of not sharing any of your goals or plans with friends or family (let alone social media), ending the video by inviting you to sign up for a workshop at a cost to learn all about this “way of living” …. Why are we trying so hard?? I understand the attraction of privacy being someone who leans far more into her life than sharing every aspect of it, but aren’t we ego-centred enough already? Sharing the sprinkles we choose to share through a screen, to me, is the only human experience we can take from this app, and really the only reason to still have it; our authenticity and willingness to be a human being. I mean, pretty soon you’ll be competing with AI, so best to keep your human flaws as flawed as you possibly can! All to say. This 3rd pregnancy has been tough. A completely different experience than my first two. I’m so grateful to the Moms out there who have shared their hardship through their own experiences, as I don’t feel alone. Woman are so amazing, and I’m in awe, every single day of the power and strength it takes to show up everyday, sometimes smiling through tears. Of all the creative things I get to do in my life, nothing will ever be as fulfilling and equally as challenging as motherhood.
