Project SEKAI COLORFUL STAGE! feat. Hatsune Miku (also known as "Project SEKAI"or "Proseka") is a rhythm game developed as a collaboration between SEGA, Craft Egg, Colorful Palette, and Crypton Future Media. The game was first released in Japan on September 30, 2020 for iOS and Android devices. In addition to the original Japanese server, there are four localised versions of the game released internationally. These include the Taiwanese (Traditional Chinese) server, which released on September 30, 2021; the Global (English) server, which released on December 7, 2021; and the Korean server, which released on May 20, 2022. There is also a Simplified Chinese version of the game which released in Mainland China on March 27th, 2025.Development for Project SEKAI began in 2017, and the game was later announced on August 30th, 2019, at Magical Mirai 2019. The development is done by Colorful Palette, a newly established subsidiary of CyberAgent's Craft Egg (developers of rhythm game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party). Yuichiro Kondo, the first producer of BanG Dream!, also serves as the producer for this game. When started, Project SEKAI was initially being developed entirely by Craft Egg, but Kondo thought it was necessary to avoid a situation where the games creation would clash with the development of BanG Dream!, so he created Colorful Palette with Craft Egg's core members within the company. The direction of the game's design and concept is different from other Hatsune Miku-related games, such as "Project: DIVA", where the player and Hatsune Miku face each other directly and communicate in the game. The project is said to be "a work that embodies the existence of Hatsune Miku" and explores the relationship between music and people. One of the reasons behind this format was the idea of "wanting the younger generation to listen to more Vocaloid music and other songs from the internet".
