This treatment of the North American people by those in power is nothing new. Reservations, “Black lives Matter “ Street, and the Asian Law act of 1913 isn’t us being happy and feeling compromise with our government ; it’s the minorities surviving. As a community we must do more then survive. We must learn to thrive together and not let those with podiums effect our existence so much. By being informed and compassionate towards one another, we can build communities that no malicious and elitst agenda can break, because without each other we are only alone. Your community matters, not only because they make up everything that is outside your home, but because you are also a part of that community, even if you don’t feel important, you exist, there for you matter. As I heard these lyrics as a 14yr old child I remember thinking these were the most intense and true line of words I have ever heard. It rocked me to my core and opened up a whole new level of understanding what it meant to be part of a society and how to help make things run smooth amidst intense diversity.
