I stayed quiet for 3 years while I have been relentlessly harassed by Nekoyanin fans. I just want it to stop. I met Nekoyanin in 2022 after they followed me from a viral video where I swatched graphic liner on my entire arm - this is a practice I had done for years. 2 months after following me, they released their own graphic liners - I was happy for them. It was short lived when one of their first marketing videos was swatching their entire arm of liners - seemingly copying the video they had followed me from. Of course, at the time I had 100k followers to their almost 800k followers. Them having more followers meant it was easier for them to go viral as we all know more followers means more eyes on you. It seemed almost immediate after her video went viral that I started receiving countless comments accusing me of copying her videos - even if I had been doing the type of content prior to her even releasing the product. I want to state that in the past Yva Expressions as well had done the full arm and credited me - which I am thankful for. It got to the point where I STOPPED covering my full arm since I was tired of the hate, and was only met then with “Well she covers her arm so I trust her more!”. I couldn’t win. I couldn’t get away. It is only Nekoyanin and its fan base that relentlessly comment to multiple creators and small businesses anything from false accusations to incredibly horrid attempts to encourage people to end their path. It has been 3 years of me getting comments on every video to the point where I don’t wish to create anymore. There has been numerous brands that launched accusations of Nekoyanin copying content. There has been many creators who were critical. The thing in common with us is that their 1 million and growing fan base has said some of the most unhinged things towards us, doxxing, and threats of violence with no repercussion or the brand owner stepping up asking them to stop. You may not control what your fan base may do, but you can encourage and educate them towards being kinder, nicer, and more diligent towards other people. We’re all human and we all deserve a safe space. These comments need to stop, these messages need to stop. You cannot sit upon your audience and watch them say these things while staying silent and pretending it isn’t your responsibility when this is the cultivation and reflection of you.
