YOYOKA, a 15-year-old drummer, has been playing drums since she was 1 year old. Born and raised in Hokkaido, Japan, she began performing live at the age of 4. At 8, YOYOKA surprised the world when her drum cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Good Times Bad Times” caught the attention of Robert Plant. She has appeared twice on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and is the youngest drummer ever listed among the “World’s Top 500 Drummers” by Drummerworld. She was also the youngest person ever included in Newsweek Japan’s “100 Japanese People the World Respects.” YOYOKA has performed with artists such as Cyndi Lauper, Fall Out Boy, and Jack Black, and has received praise from Ian Paice, Tom Morello, Chad Smith, Bootsy Collins, Anderson .Paak, and Dave Grohl. At age 8, she signed endorsement deals with Pearl, Zildjian, VIC FIRTH, and others. She also recorded 18 tracks for the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster video game series. YOYOKA has appeared in global commercial campaigns for Nike, Moncler, Google, and UNIQLO. In September 2022, she moved to the U.S. with her family to pursue her passion for drumming and music. She first attended the Oakland School for the Arts, took advanced music classes, and explored various music genres. In June 2023, she relocated to Los Angeles to focus more seriously on her music career. In 2024, she signed an endorsement deal with drum manufacturer Ludwig. She released her debut album For Teen in October 2024, featuring collaborations with Narada Michael Walden, members of Jamiroquai, and Marco Mendoza. Additionally, she formed the jazz fusion band Ken Okada Group in 2023. The group has performed at numerous jazz festivals and is currently working on their third original album.
